Shogun Game by FASA

Vintage James Clavell’s Shogun Board Game by FASA Based on the Book

I remember when James Clavell’s Shogun miniseries was on TV. It was a real Big Deal in my family because you didn’t often see historical Japan on English language TV.

Back then, it was just so rare to see a decent portrayal of Asians that we just ate it up.

Clavell had a series of six books about Asia called The Asian Saga, with the titles Shogun, Tai-Pan, Gai-Jin, King Rat, Noble House, and Whirlwind. The best known was probably King Rat.

This is a gourmet board game based on the book, and the tv miniseries – most likely both, because there was a huge “Shogun” push across all media at the time.

I said it’s by Fasa, but it’s not really.  It was made by an English company and Fasa imported it and made it into this attractive bookcase box game.
